My knifemaking career started in 1986. Six months later, I saw my first damascus steel blade, which encouraged me to start making my own. I started out making my own damascus steel by hand with a coal forge. In 1996, I bought my first gas forge. In 1998, I purchased my 30-ton hydraulic press and began making damascus steel for sale. In 2001 I decided to expand the number and type of damascus patterns I offered for sale and I am currently offering 19 different patterns with the addition of several new patterns every year. My damascus steel consists of mostly 01 – L6 and pure nickel. I occasionally use metallic Meteorites in my damascus.
I live in Indian River, Michigan with my wife and four girls.
I am now a full time knife and damascus maker and I am also making finished blades.
